Mr. V Part 3

"Meron kang mararamdaman na nde mo nahahawakan.
Makalipas ang ilang araw, may tusok tusok ka na."
-Mr. V, while on the road describing how a "salubsob" feels

Unlearning the basics

During one of our long drives, I sort of admitted to Mr. V that I already forgot some things I've learned back in school. Yes, I remember some of them but you know, not every FREAKIN detail. And he goes...

"Diba natuto ka maglakad? gumapang? kumain? Pero hinde mo naman nakalimutan yun diba?"
Tablado nanaman ako. Ang kosolasyon ko na lng eh,
hinde naman nako masyado gumagapang ngayon.
Minsan na lng.

Conversations with Mr. V Part 2

On the road while looking at them trees (literally)...

"Pag nagtatanim ka ng puno, kung gusto mong matamis ang maging mga bunga, budburan mo ng asukal habang tinatamnan ang lupa".

"Kelan ko kaya makukuha ang isang milyon ko? (speaking in dollar terms yan ha)".

"Kapag ang isang tao masama ang ipinapakita sayo, dapat pakitaan mo ng mabuti, para marealize nila na hindi tama ang ginagawa nila".

By now, I'm convinced he was a former scriptwriter for regal and seiko films. Sigh. The highlights of my life. Classic.

Conversations with Mr. V

I consider Mr. V as one of my favorite individuals in the world. He is a special guy. Though some people think he is a bit slow in the head, I consider his principles as uhm, really really good, unwavering, and practical ones.

His everyday task is to bring me to wherever I need be. I like him coz he lets me ?control? the FM tuner to my liking. Plus he feeds me words of wisdom while on the road.

One time, while talking about his famous passengers over the years, he slowly blurted out that he was (still is I think) in the military. Part of some secret force or something. Even showed me his ID and tattoos to prove it and name-dropped Marcos in the conversation. I just smile and nod my head.
And when the topic became LIFE and the influence of money over it, he secretly told me he has a million dollars. One Million. Not Pesos. But dollars. He got it from -----. (I promised not to tell, eh).

Before the end of the day, I was promised of a whole day of shopping, a car, and 5 Million Pesos- when the time comes he gets to deposit it. Some guy tried to deposit it here before, but he got caught. So Mr. V is very careful. And he needs to deposit it in the States. Goodluck na lang.

I know, who would believe him diba? But the scary thing is, I do.
